Customizing Controls

This guide will help you if you want to customize the controls in the game to feel at home in the Zone. After all, every experienced stalker customizes their equipment for themselves.

1. In the main menu of the game, open Options.
2. Go to Controls.

Your input device will be recognized automatically and the game will offer you the settings for keyboard/mouse or gamepad.

1. For keyboard and mouse

     In the Controls menu, you can adjust the mouse sensitivity and invert its horizontal and vertical axis.

     To reassign keys:

1. Press Keyboard settings. A list of all available commands and their corresponding keys opens.
2. Click on the line with the command you want to reassign. The key image will disappear.
3. Now press the key you want to set for this command.
4. Press Enter, to apply the changes.

     Now you can return to the game to continue playing with the new settings.

2. For gamepad

     In the Controls menu, you can make settings:

• Enable or disable vibration
• Enable/disable horizontal and vertical inversion
• Adjust the overall sensitivity of the stick and the sensitivity during aiming.

     You can customize your preferred method of performing certain gameplay actions in the Gamepad Settings menu: for example, you can choose whether to activate sprint by holding the button, by toggling, or both. The same applies to crouching, tilting, aiming, quick descent of the ladder, opening the item selector, and the weapon accessories menu.

     You can choose the type of target aim assistance:

• Default - slows down the crosshairs next to the target
• Focusing - more intense deceleration with a higher chance of hitting the enemy
• Full - while aiming, the reticle crosshairs will automatically move to the next target
• Custom - set the following parameters independently:
  • Camera deceleration rate
  • Speed of rotation behind the target

3. Reset input settings to default

     For keyboard/mouse:

1. In the game's main menu, open Options.
2. Go to the Controls section.
3. Press R to reset any input settings you have made.
4. Press Enter, to apply your changes.

     For gamepad:

1. In the game's main menu, open Options.
2. Go to the section Controls.
3. Press Y to reset any input settings you have made.
4. Press X to apply the changes.
