How to manage game content on PlayStation?

Whether you're trying to locate a downloaded add-on, share your games with family, or fix a content access issue, knowing these quick tips can enhance your PS5 experience.

  • Managing Your Installed Game Content

It's common to download a season pass or specific DLC and then wonder where it went or if it's actually installed. The PS5 makes it easy to check and manage this content on a per-game basis:

  1. Make sure your PS5 is connected to the Internet for proper communication with the PlayStation Network.
  2. Navigate to the game icon on your PS5 Home Screen or within your Game Library.
  3. Press the Options button on your DualSense controller.
  4. Select Manage Game Content.

This screen will display all the downloadable content associated with the game, allowing you to see what's installed and giving you the option to install or delete individual add-ons.

  • Sharing Content Across Multiple Accounts

If you want other accounts on your PS5 to be able to access the games and downloadable content you've purchased from the PlayStation Store, this is possible by using the Console Sharing and Offline Play feature:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Users and Accounts.
  3. Select Other.
  4. Select Console Sharing and Offline Play.
  5. Choose Enable.

When this feature is enabled on your primary PS5 console, anyone who signs in can play your purchased games and media, even when the console is offline, and also enjoy some of your PlayStation Plus benefits, if you have a subscription.
Note: You can only enable this on one PS5 console at a time for your account.

  • Restoring Licenses for Purchased Content

To re-sync your purchases with the PlayStation Network servers and restore your content licenses, please follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Users and Accounts.
  3. Select Other.
  4. Select Restore Licenses.
  5. Select Restore.

This process typically takes just a few moments and can resolve access issues for games, add-ons, or other content downloaded from the PlayStation Store.

  • Syncing Trophies with PlayStation Network

If you've earned a trophy but it's not showing up correctly on your profile, or the progress seems inaccurate, the issue might be that your local trophy data hasn't fully synchronized with the PlayStation Network. You can manually force a sync to fix this:

  1. From the Home Screen, go to your Profile Picture.
  2. Select Trophies.
  3. Once on your Trophies screen, press the Options button on your controller.
  4. Select Sync with PlayStation Network.

This will prompt a manual synchronization of your trophy data, ensuring your achievements are correctly recorded and displayed across your devices and to your friends.
