Inventory and player's stash

The inventory contains everything your character carries or has on his or her person. Here you can control which weapons or armor and artifacts to use, which consumables are installed in quick access slots, and more.

To equip an item, drag it from your inventory to the slot assigned to it. To do this, hold down the A button on the gamepad.

Remember that the weight your character can carry is limited. The weight of each item is affects your movement speed and stamina. The current weight of equipment and all items in your inventory is shown on the color scale at the bottom of the inventory window. Make sure it stays green - the Zone is unforgiving when you need to quickly escape from danger.

To get rid of excess weight in your inventory, you can throw away what you don't need, sell it, or put it in your player's cache:

  • Discard an item from your inventory. For keyboard and mouse: Drag the item outside the inventory or choose Discard from the item's context menu, or press the D key. On a gamepad: press and hold Y. If the item cannot be thrown away or sold, it is a quest item and you need it for the story.
  • Sell - start a dialog with a trader or other neutral or friendly character. The dialog will open an option to trade with them.
  • Put in the stash. You have a personal stash where you can leave everything you don't need for the expedition. It is available at any hub, looks like a blue box, and is marked with a special marker on the map. All of these caches have a common inventory, which means that everything you left in the cache of one hub can be retrieved from any other hub.
